01 / The challenge
Planning together often means looking apart.
Group travel planning happens together, but the tools are usually individual.
Everyone searches on their own phone, switches between maps and booking apps, and gradually moves attention away from the people at the table.
I wanted to explore a different question:
Could spatial computing bring digital information into the conversation without taking people out of it?

02 / The interaction idea
Keep the map physical. Let the digital layer stay light.
Instead of turning the whole room into an AR interface, Gather Route uses a paper map as the spatial anchor.
The map remains the shared ground truth. Digital information appears only when it helps the group compare, discuss, or decide. This created a simple hierarchy:
Physical map
Where the conversation stays grounded.
Spatial information
Context such as places, prices, and routes.
Personal pins
What each person is considering.
